Cinderella’s Curse is set to continue the unusual trend of adapting stories we were fond of as children into horror movies we are terrified of as adults.
According to Bloody Disgusting, Cinderella will get the horror treatment with Cinderella’s Curse. Louisa Warren serves as the film’s director and producer, with Harry Boxley as the screenwriter. The cast comprises Kelly Rian Sanson, Chrissie Wunna, and Danielle Scott.
Cinderella’s Curse will be produced by ChampDog Films and distributed by ITN Studios. The film is expected to be released in October this year.
Cinderella Is Coming For You!
“This an incredibly unique spin on the Cinderella we all love and know. There are going to be some truly horrific deaths by her hands. I think the gore hounds are in for a treat in my dark retelling.”

The plot details are not known as yet, but don’t be surprised to see Cinderella in a bloody dress brutally murdering people with her glass slipper and enacting revenge against her wicked stepmother and stepsisters. Perhaps we’ll see her fairy godmother as her accomplice?
The Movie Curse Of Ruining Childhood, Or Is It?
First, Winnie The Pooh and Piglet went on a killing spree in Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey. Then, the Grinch spent his Christmas Eve murdering the citizens of Whoville, sorry, “Newville”, in The Mean One. Now it’s Cinderella’s time to shine under the haunting moonlight of a dark, cloudy, starless sky in a place where no one can hear your screams as you may see in the upcoming film, Cinderella’s Curse.

Let’s address the elephant in the room, many of us aren’t fans of children’s stories being reimagined as bloody, gritty horror movies. These horror movies seem to strip away the innocence of fond childhood memories. However, to play devil’s advocate, a horror reimagining of Cinderella is not exactly a horrible idea when you consider the gruesome details of the literature by the Brothers Grimm as well as various iterations of the story.
Cinderella’s Grim Reality

No, Cinderella was not a homicidal menace to the kingdom, instead, we had one of her stepsisters amputate her heels and toes so that her foot can fit in the famous glass slipper, and both stepsisters had their eyes savagely pecked out by birds at the end of the story. Aside from that grim depiction, there has always been a mature subtext in the classic tale with underlying themes of abuse, greed, narcissism, and slavery. Look at the abuse and mistreatment inflicted on Cinderella, there is no way she did not have a single thought about revenge cross her mind at least once.
About Cinderella
We know her story, the timeless story of the titular character who has been mistreated by her stepfamily before living happily ever after with a prince has been told through various forms of literature and media.
Over centuries the story gradually developed from an ancient Greek tale of a slave girl named Rhopis who marries the King Of Egypt, to countless variants under different names before Charles Perrault told the story that’s cemented in Pop culture today.
