Nope? Yes, that is the title of Jordan Peele’s new movie. Jordan Peele will once again walk the thin line between genius and insanity in the horror realm with a familiar face along with new companions. Of course, I’m here to tell you all about it so keep reading.
Jordan Peele has come a long way proving that he’s so much more than a comedic talent, but a creator who prioritizes his duties as a writer and a filmmaker. He was once known for making us laugh out of our seats, now he’s infamous for scaring us out of our seats until we hit the ceiling. First, he gave us, “Get Out, then Us, now we must brace ourselves for Nope, his next horror venture.

Recently, Peele took to his Twitter account to reveal the movie’s title along with a poster in a tweet captioned with nothing other than a very mysterious cloud emoji.
Jordan Peele Said Nope
Little to no information was given regarding this movie’s plot so I have no idea what’s going on here. The poster’s tagline just describes “Nope” as “a new terror from the mind of Academy Award winner Jordan Peele”.
The Cast That Said Yes to Nope
However, I do know that Daniel Kaluuya, who landed an Oscar nomination for Peele’s directorial debut, “Get Out,” is starring in “Nope” alongside Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun. Other cast members include Euphoria actor Barbie Ferreira, “The OA” star Brandon Perea and Michael Wincott (The Crow, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves).

Universal Pictures will be distributing the film, the release date is set for July 22, 2022. The poster indicates that the film will only be released in theaters. This may come as a disappointment for some of you, other studios such as Disney and Warner Bros, have been releasing their movies to streaming services or Video on Demand to accompany their theatrical releases in light of the pandemic.
Don’t worry, there’s still hope. Universal can release its films to premium video on demand platforms at least 17 days after premiering in cinemas.
I’m curious, I wonder if people will be shaking their heads, saying “nope”, throughout this movie. I know I could not possibly be the only one thinking that.
Are you excited about Nope? Do you have any idea what this movie’s about? Let me know in the comments. Did you like what you read? Do you want to read more? If your subconscious said, “yes please”, what are you waiting on?
